Apartment in Lexington

So, this post has been awhile coming. Before I moved in I took some photos of my new apartment, in the Avalon at Lexington Hills complex. (Unfortunately my particular apartment floorplan is not listed for whatever reason.) I also took some photos after I had unpacked and setup part of the apartment, but I seem to have lost those somehow. And right now, the place is too much of a mess and I’d have to work around too much stuff that’s still packed in boxes to take more photos now.

The complex has a pool, fitness room and package service. It sits on the site of the Old Metropolitan State Hospital in Lexington, MA. The hospital site was converted into a Department of Conservation and Recreation open space. I think it’s the Beaver Brook Reservation, which is the closest DCR site I can find to the site. As you can see from the Google Map the apartment site is surrounded by woods, and what you probably can’t see is a little bit of wetlands. This was my compromise to living in Logan, UT, yet having a “short” 45 minute commute into Cambridge.
