Picnic and Tour!

A picnic with the California Maritime ASME Student Section. There will be tours of the Training Ship The Golden Bear and our Steam Plant and Bridge Simulators. This will be a great experience and fun for the kids of the family members.

The California Maritime Academy is a four-year state college of business, engineering, technology and marine transportation. Those who discover Cal Maritime often describe it as the "best kept secret" in higher education on the West Coast. It has an excellent reputation for its direct, hands-on approach, practical and real-world oriented. Cal Maritime is one of 23 campuses in The California State University system, yet is unique because of its rich history spanning decades. Directions:
Going Eastbound on I-80
  • Cross Carquinez Bridge and pay toll
  • Exit right onto Sonoma Blvd (Hwy 29)
  • Left at first (yellow flashing) signal onto Maritime Academy Drive
  • Follow Maritime Academy Drive onto campus
Going Westbound on I-80
  • Exit right onto Maritime Academy Drive.
  • Cross Sonoma Blvd at red flashing signal
  • Follow Maritime Academy Drive onto campus.
Once on Maritime Academy Drive:
  • Follow Maritime Academy Drive all the way to the waterfront
  • Take a right onto Morrow Cove Drive
  • Take Morrow Cove Drive along the waterfront to the parking area.
  • The picnic will be straight ahead at the student center.
