California Maritime Academy in Vallejo On Friday and Saturday, March 23th and 24th, the Region IX Student Conference (RSC) will be held at the California Maritime Academy in Vallejo. The RSC attracts ASME Student Members from California, Hawaii and Nevada. They compete in a variety of Oral, Poster and Student Design Contests. There is no charge to attend this event, and reservations are not required. The California Maritime Academy is off highway 80 just North of the Carquinez Bridge. For more information, or detailed directions to the site, call (707) 654-1100. Judges are needed for each event. If you have a few spare hours, and enjoy working with future engineers, Region IX needs you as a volunteer judge. Sponsorships from local businesses are also welcome. Sponsors help keep the cost of registration down, making it more affordable for students throughout the region to attend. Sponsors may also use the event to do a little recruiting, if they wish.
