The Geysers Tour

Saturday May 26, 2001
Middleton, CA

This is a special tour for ASME members and their guests that our gracious host, Calpine, has agreed to provide us. Tour starts at about 9:30 in this new center with a general overview of geothermal energy and The Geysers, the largest geothermal operation in the world. At about 10:AM, a bus will take us to the steam fields and a inside tour of a power plant. We get to see a lot more than the general public since we are ME's. The bus will bring us back to the Visitors Center at about 12:30 where Calpine will provide us with a complimentary lunch! During and after lunch there will be time for Q/A and after the tour ends.

We encourge our members to make this a family event! You could combine this with a vinery tour and a stay overnight in Napa (Calistoga, St. Helena, ...) for a nice get-away. Who knows, it may even be tax deductible! However, as the tour size is limited to 30 people, we encourage you to sign-up as soon as possible as we'll be signing members up on a first-come first-served basis.

Meet:
Calpine New Visitors Center
1550 Central Park Rd. (on Hwy. 29)
Middletown, CA 95461

RSVP by May 14 to rsvp@sf.asme.org or leave a message at 415-721-4478. Include number of attendees. Also, please include your phone number in case we need to call you.
