ASME welcomes you aboard the aircraft carrier USS HORNET MUSEUM, the West Coast's newest and most sensational destination!. Enjoy the opportunity to explore this unique National Historical landmark with its unforgettable view of the San Francisco skyline and Bay Bridge.

The USS HORNET is a ship that affected the course of history!. As a highly decorated World War II naval vessel with an unequalled combat record in the United States Navy, she was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation. HORNET was also the recovery ship for the Apollo 11 & 12 missions. Imagine walking in the footsteps of the first men on the moon.

The USS HORNET offers something for everybody's imagination. Sense the drama of carrier landings as you peer from the towering captain's bridge; watch historical film footage while sitting in the seats of former pilots; experience how men lived aboard ship as you wander through berthing areas and mess halls; and much, much more. Highlights of the visit also include a guided tour of the engine room. Try the thrilling flight simulator ride, recreating an F-18 Desert Storm mission that has you taking off from the flightdeck of an aircraft carrier to meet your opponents (for an extra fee).

Permanently anchored at Alameda Point (formerly NAS Alameda), the USS HORNET is open daily, except Tuesday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. ASME has arranged a special tour at a discount. Tours are self-guided with docents available to answer questions and lead mini-tours (bridge, engine room, and others).
