Genentech HQ, One DNA Way
South San Francisco

Bioengineering is one of the exciting growth areas in engineering today. Join us as we tour Genentech, a pioneer in biotechnology. The tour will present Genentech's process of discovering, developing and manufacturing biotechnology drugs from start to finish. The tour takes approximately one hour and takes groups through the research, manufacturing and pilot plant facilities.

About the Company: Genentech, Inc. was founded in 1976 by venture capitalist Robert A. Swanson and biochemist Dr. Herbert W. Boyer. In the early 1970s, Boyer and geneticist Stanley Cohen pioneered a new scientific field called recombinant DNA technology. Today, Genentech is a leading biotechnology company using human genetic information to develop, manufacture and market pharmaceuticals that address significant unmet medical needs.
