Our speaker will provide a brief introduction to Value Engineering, and will cover topics including:

Developing target cost for a product,
Customer requirements ("Voice of the Customer"),
Product trees vs. function trees,
Design for manufacturability and assembly, and
Multifunctional design teams.

About the Speaker: Gaurav Shaw is currently a member of the technical staff at Applied Materials in Santa Clara. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Saurastra University in Rajkot, Gujarat, India and has taken graduate level courses at San Jose State University.
