The September Bay Area Small Business Event:

ASME International
Small Business Forum
"Where Technology meets Business"

Thursday, September 18, 1997
Gates Building at Stanford University, Palo Alto

Running a small technology-based business poses unique challenges for the entrepreneur. As in all business endeavors, the bottom line is important. However, when the company's core business is focused on technology, there is another dimension. In such enterprises, the balance between technical issues and business pressures is critical. This is where ASME can help. ASME has one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, conducts 30 conferences and 200 professional development courses each year, sets numerous industrial and manufacturing standards, and provides special programs for small technical organizations and their personnel.

This forum is designed to provide a unique networking and information exchange for the small business owner, the employee and the entrepreneur. Featured speakers will be Jerry Yang founder of YAHOO!, the popular Internet search engine, and Robert Koski, founder and CEO of Sun Hydraulics Corporation. Interactive discussions will cover all aspects of small business from marketing to technology implementation, to management and legal issues.

Registration information is available on the web at http://www.asme.org/smallbiz or call ASME Information Central at 1-800-843-2763; fax 973-882-1717; E-mail InfoCentral@asme.org.

The cost of registration is $150 onsite. Pre-registration is $100 for ASME members, $125 for non-members. This includes admission to the forum, a handbook, lunch and parking.
