AUTODESK, the leader in design and animation software for the PC, develops, sells and supports products for CAD, Virtual Reality, and Multimedia applications running on PC's and Workstations. The company is headquartered in Marin County.

Work as part of a team responsible for defining the vision for the mechanical focused AutoCAD product and guiding the implementation to ensure that the vision is fulfilled. Work closely with Product Marketing and Software Development to ensure the resulting product meets the Mechanical CAD market needs. Program management acts as an advocate for the user and works with the development team to ensure that the right capabilities are implemented. Key responsibilities include development and delivery of product functional specifications for drafting functionality and international standards support, interface with Quality Assurance and providing assistance to Technical Publications in the development of user documentation.

Principle Responsibilities:
Define the capabilities and feature sets that will go in the product and define the characteristics of those capabilities. Ensure that proper priorities are established among the capabilities.

Define the conceptual model through which the user perceives and understands the structure of the product. Define the user interaction model and guide the detailed design and implementation of the user interface.

Provide a bridge between marketing and development. Translate market requirements into product vision, product requirements, and user interaction models.

Organize and conduct tests with users to understand and correct usability and functionality problems. Conduct product validation tests to ensure that the product meets customer and market needs.

Provide functional specifications and technical leadership for functionality developed outside the Autodesk organization. Maintain consistency in functionality developed by contract organizations.

Coordinate the development of user education materials to ensure that they are well integrated with the product.
