Funding Sources: Quinsigamond Community College/U.S. Department of Labor

The collaboration began with a strategic consulting phase to better understand how educational technology might enhance the advanced manufacturing programs at Transformation Agenda colleges. Emerging from this initial phase were the design and development of case studies focusing on an Introduction to Problem Solving and Improving Observation skills and an online assessment tool to enable students to better understand the relationships between orthographics and 3D representations of complex machined parts. Also part of the second phase was a proof-of-concept “data bus” to link labor and workforce data will college programs. A final phase focused on data modeling to represent labor market information for the design and development of service models.

The Transformation Agenda is a collaboration of the 15 public community colleges in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts brought together in the first round of Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) funding from the U.S. Department of Labor.
