My .1 seconds of Internet fame!
Well, really it was a single post Movies when and how *I* want them!. Since I published it in 2009, it’s received over 5,100 visits (as reported by StatPress).
[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]
You can see the drop in usage, when I replaced the image that drove most of the bandwidth spike. And in particular a specific image that drove most of the visits.

This image is a collage of the DVD covers for the movies that I own. And it what really caused all the problems is when it was linked from a Movie forum. (Unfortunately I seem to have forgotten to, or can’t find the, screenshot the offending page.)
At one level I was please that someone found content I created useful, on the other I was very annoyed. Not the least of which, the terms of use are pretty prominent on my site. All they had to do was provide any kind of attribution of the original source — instead of just deep linking to an image on my site. I use a Creative Commons license to encourage use, I still don’t want my content to be stolen!
I clearly stated:
The Movies when and how *I* want them! by Brandon Muramatsu, unless otherwise expressly stated, is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License.
So, I replaced the image with this one:

[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
Now this person was kind enough to attribute the image back to me. http://theredandpurpleroom.blogspot.com/2011/02/movie-collage.html
