California coulda been huge!
This isn’t really a “funny” item, per se, it’s mostly interesting and a tweak at my Mormon friends.
I was at the Oakland Museum of California (as a diversion on a business trip) and wandered through the California history section. Ok, so I grew up in California, and I think I studied California history at least once if not twice or maybe more. In that time I do not recall seeing maps of the proposed size of California that included most of the southwestern United States.

Him: “Oh my heck”*…just read the Mormon part. Screw that.
Me: LOL I thought that was what you were referring to.
Him: There’s already enough blondes in california….don’t need to add a bunch of prudishignorantones too…* I replaced his actual phrase with something more Mormon friendly.
