Hotel BCN Catedral WiFi Sucks

This is a Friday, not so funny.

The network at the Hotel BCN Catedral sucks. My first night here, if my laptop went to sleep, the only way to get the network to come back was to restart my laptop, and then toggle the network a few times. It takes skill to keep a Mac from connecting to a network. The second night, the network didn’t work at all. The third night, the network worked from 6pm-1am, but wouldn’t work the next morning. The fourth night, the network is currently working, we’ll see if it continues when I wake up in the morning.

It’s not like it’s 1999. Networks are supposed to just work, certainly in major international cities, and reasonably upscale hotels.

This happened to my boss when he stayed at this hotel almost a month ago. And I hear others at the conference that have had problems here. I guess it isn’t deceptive advertising to say that the hotel has WiFi…they never said it worked.

Sheesh.
