3 Tips: iOS5, MacOSX Lion, GMail

, ,

I found this article on Apple iOS 5 from MacWorld back in October. It’s a comprehensive description of iOS5, along with some useful tips.

One of my annoyances in MacOS X 10.7 is that I will sometimes close a program and expect the files I had opened, to actually, you know, close. The OS has other thoughts. Quitting a program with Cmd-Option-Q should force those windows to close according to this Lifehacker article: Stop Lion from Re-Opening Old Windows with Command+Option+Q.

Google seems to think that their modern designs should have a lack of contrast. Sheesh. I’m not so old that I should have problems with the new GMail UI. Apparently I’m not alone, this Lifehacker article, Fix Gmail’s Newest Annoyances with These Userstyles and Userscripts, has a few tips. It works best on Chrome and Firefox, sadly I couldn’t get any of them to work with Safari. :(
