This is an update for some of the blogs I manage.

Premier Award

I’m bringing up (a long overdue) Premier Award website. I’ve added in a few plugins that are worth calling out.

  • WordPress Download Monitor: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/download-monitor/
    Manage downloads on your site, view and show hits, and output in posts.
  • Google Analytics for WordPress: http://yoast.com/wordpress/google-analytics/
    This plugin makes it simple to add Google Analytics to your WordPress blog, adding lots of features, eg. custom variables and automatic clickout and download tracking. (Lead to re-installation on OEIT sites.)
  • WP-Mail-SMTP: http://www.callum-macdonald.com/code/wp-mail-smtp/
    Reconfigures the wp_mail() function to use SMTP instead of mail() and creates an options page to manage the settings. (To set the sender name on outgoing emails (for example using Contact Form 7) to something besides the default WordPress wordpress@domain.org)
